Three generations of Father’s day, how to make each one feel special!

Dads come in different body shapes and ages. A father’s age usually dictates his interests. With Father’s day just around the corner, children and wives would have to think of getting an appropriate gift for the most important man of their lives. But what are the gifts that would appeal to young dads, middle-aged dads, and older dads? Identifying the interests of each generation will help a lot in zeroing on the most appropriate gift for dads this Father’s Day.

Young Dads

Young dads are those who fall between the 20-39 years old age bracket.  Compared to the other two age brackets of dads, the guys who are considered young dads have interests that are contemporary in nature. They would normally appreciate current sensations like contemporary music artists, Hollywood blockbuster movies, and popular book authors. Because of their age, they are most likely to engage in sports activities and carry their young kids around the park.

There are lots of ideal gifts for young dads. For one, they would appreciate getting baby slings and carriers that should make babysitting more tolerable and easier for them. A sling can also encourage a young father to spend more time with his newborn.

Depending on the budget, high-end gifts like a HD video camera may be given to young dads. Young fathers would love to document moments like first steps of their child, so a video camera is highly recommended. A less expensive option would be a point-and-shoot camera.

Middle-aged Dads

Middle-aged dads are those in their 40’s and 50’s. These dads are normally those who have been freed from the responsibility of taking care of young children, and thus have more time in their hands to engage in different interests. It is normal for men of this age-range to be hooked to electronics and gadgets like mobile phones, cameras, tablets and laptop computers, among other things. They are also often found at home fixing various things around the house.

There are still tons of gift options for fathers belonging to this age range. With their appreciation of gadgets, middle-aged fathers will surely love receiving electronic products like the latest cellular phones, video cameras, computers, and even gaming consoles.  Dads who are fond of fixing things around the house are ideal recipients of tools like a drill or saw. A toolbox complete with the essential tools is also a nice gift for middle aged dads.

Older dads

Older dads are those aged at least 50 years. They are usually grandfathers who tend to be overly sentimental and glued to things that remind them of the yesteryears. They also appreciate spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Thus, older dads would love getting simple gifts like handmade gifts such as a framed photo collage, or even a cake baked by their children. Handmade things can underscore the love and appreciation of children and thus are considered more appealing to older dads. Older dads will also love it if they are treated to an activity or experience, like doing a round of golf with their children.
